I love my guitars and in between writing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, eating and sleeping I try to play as much as possible. I listen to all kinds of music, but especially symphonic rock and heavy metal. Some of my sources of inspiration are Symphony X, Dream Theater, Children of Bodom, Steve Vai, The Agonist and August Burns Red. While the music may be too much for some, these bands all consist of amazing and talented musicians that combine song-writing, feeling and technical skills. That for me is what music is all about.
Besides these (and other) bands, I also love classical music and my wife and I regularly try to visit classical concerts.
I used to play in a band called Trail of Symbols, and we recorded several demo’s, including one called ‘An Ode to the Ignorant’.
I play Ibanez electric guitars and various acoustic guitars.
We wouldn’t have it any other way. Rock on!
Hahaha, hey Bram!!!! I didn´t know about this site!!! I did a search on google for ´Groevenbeek´ and you popped up with your resumé on ISS. So that´s how I found this site. Wicked man!!! Just too cool! Quite surprised about the research grant…..You have to tell me more about that. Interesting you are diving into web 2.0 as well (I´m into it from the publicity/commercial side).
Ah, and of course I feel honored you wrote some words about your musical past …. great times….. Just this week I played the intro of….. Young God…. nice tune!!!!
Keep in touch!!!! Take care!!
